Death by CCTV
I previously had PPCTV via cable, some very nice channels.
When I moved I got stuck with CCTV...retch, retch, and retch harder.
What are my options, and what will they cost? Soon as I get a chance to switch, I will.
Internet, Satellite (maybe too expensive)
I have 3.5 MB internet at home if that helps.
Sure I could share a connection with neighbour if it were possible, to lower costs.

Re: Death by CCTV
I don't remember the exact figures but we did some costings on this when we set up this house - apart from hefty setup costs, the satellite option is within reach if you've been paying for PPCTV, and it's worth it just to stop the neighbours stealing it until your own signal is no longer watchable. In our last house, on the day the cable was run, eight branches were added by the neighbours, with God only knows how many sub-branches. By the time the installers got back to the office, the signal was crap.
To be fair to PPCTV they do come out and check the line the following day after we call them - so they can bill the neighbours that have "self-subscribed" since last time.
What deterred us with satellite was the need for multiple boxes for the multiple TVs in the house.

Anything worth watching can be streamed from official sources these days so why bother with cable or satellite?

Cable TV is a obsolete technology. Their programs are what they want you to watch.
Spend the money on upgrading your internet and watch what you want to watch.

Agreed to both - however our paying tenants expect cable TV.

So what does satellite cost? What channels are there? If I can get Supersport/History Channel etc. it may be worth it

I honestly don't recall, but it was within the realms of possibility - let us know when you find out!vladimir wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2017 12:52 pmHey! Get your own thread!StroppyChops wrote: ↑Tue May 23, 2017 12:53 pmAgreed to both - however our paying tenants expect cable TV.
