Congratulations Master Cylinder for being our 100th member!!

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Yes the forum will survive. It's like a new divorce for some right now, people need to vent.

I did not make up the toothache event, he was boasting to the faithful Mob.

because i mouthed off to KiR and compared his behaviour to that of hitler... didn't set well apparently.
One professional forum of which I am a member have an anonymous rule for moderation. Meaning that :

- you cannot contact the mod directly
- You have a flag associated with each post and if you judge the content inappropriate you can activate the button and send a message to the mod. This is a one way communication system
- The mode can post message but you cannot send MP to them

Of course a mod can also have a pseudo as an user but they do not advertize the fact that they are mod and are not frequent poster anyways.

Having a serial poster like OD or KIR being also mod give way to potential conflict of interest.

I do not like what you write about me, well not your lucky day I am mod...

I'm just waiting for some psychos to arrive. Like that guy who started the thread about ketamine for depression, then went completely bat shit. Or the Scandinavian porn bomber who's posts would be up for 5 minutes or so. Or Ernest the tweeker (he posted his real name, so it's OK) who got "engaged" to the Red Fox worker. Then the fun will start!
I am sooooo very sorry if you can't understand or appreciate my sarcastic facetiousness.

Welcome, Ryoon! Glad you made it over!

Now be a good lad and post an introduction in the "introduce yourself" thread! :good:

Just a suggestion, by the way, you don't actually have to do it, LoL.

why the negativity?...the site is in it's infancy, there's a few disgruntled members and that's ok...it'll pass..if the place is well run it'll establish it's own identity and niche and the rest as they say will be history...

Some of us can't bear the wait.

I enjoy Cambodia for no other reason than the many other wackos making me feel much better about my own lunacy.

there's no denying entertainment...it was 440's bread and butter until a more PC demographic emerged...the more the merrier...

one thing i'll say to this... it depends on your personality. i don't do shit like that. i've been running another forum quite similar to this (in the respect of a large portion of the members knowing one another in real life as well, and all being from/in the same region) for 13 years and despite several personal attacks/jabs on there about me i've never once replied with moderation of the post unless real life personal details (full name, phone number, etc) was involved... and then only to modify it to something anon. i reply IN THREAD and IN CONVERSATION. as it should be.

Yes I like those Rare forums where the members self moderate Flamers and Trolls and tell them to wise up or dispute the misinformation. No nonsense but friendly. It's as though a drunk wandered into a private party and started to dis the hostess. Not tolerated. But I think it's easier on a techie or technical/skills site where Facts prevail. So far so good.

Before you criticise someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticise them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes
