Foreigner sleeping on road at Banlung intersection

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

What do you want to do... go 'save' him?

I'd kick him in the ass... and tell him to go get a $4 dorm room before some idiot in an orange Lamborghini runs him over.
You could be next.

According to posts on our Facebook, the man is named Nick and used to have a pizza place on Street 51.

Other random comments from CEO's Facebook:

"Cambodia Expats Online: Dave Howard and I found him living rough a few years back in Battambang. He's got a drinking problem, mental health issues and no passport. He's lived also in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap before Battambang. Always wondered what happened to him.

Is it Nick who had the Pizza place on 51 street in PP?

we already have our compatriots to take care of please don't come to us as a further burden if you come over please help and act with respect to local culture we are trying hard to make a living thank you to all foreigners who could understand this

Poor peoples haven't got nationality. I saw it all around the world. They got the same sight, the same pain. In other hand, nobody will support them. They are in their own. It will be great if they could come back in their country cause the government could help them, more than here

Sometimes people find themselves in circumstances that are nothing to do with wrong decisions and even if he has made a mistake he is a person. It doesn't matter what country this man is from he is a fellow human and in need of help, even if it is to take him to his embassy or help him off the road so he is safe. We are all each other's keepers.

While the guy may have indeed crashed out wasted, let's not be so quick to judge... I found a old man like that once who had pissed himself and everything - it turned out he'd had an epileptic seizure and I needed to call an ambulance. As anyone with epilepsy can tell you, you're often exhausted after one of those. Either way the compassionate thing to do would be check he's OK and encourage him off the road, drunk or otherwise.

So poor man ! It was an experience for a boy from Belgiem , he was stolen by some one then he lost everything money and pass port too luckily he has computer with him , in that time he come to Lacroisette he was very hungry, I bought him a croissant with free glass of water and free of internet , at he end he can contact with Ambassador and brought him home , so it was very big experiences for foreigner , so be careful all the time !

Please do not judge and laugh at people in difficult situations, we don't know what he is going through. I hope someone helped him and rescued safely.

Banlung always was a sleepy town...
