How long have you lived in Cambodia? Poll.

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Been here since 99.
I learn one new Khmer word every year so now I can order a beer, ask you your age and if you have any sisters. That's more than enough for me.

You need to add at least one more 5 year increment.

Hmm, not sure if one can edit polls, otherwise I'd comply.

Actually when I arrived here I promised myself I would leave within 5 years as I didn't want to end up like my mates. They were on a downward spiral and they came here with UNTAC and somehow stayed on. Unfortunately most of them are dead now, or moved on and died, and if I hadn't cleaned my act up a few years ago, I think I would have joined them.

I moved here in 2003. Not intending to go back to France or move to anywhere. Here to stay and live to see Cambodia's change of leadership.

In one sense I'm glad my almost decade long living relationship with Asia came to a forced end due to financial irresponsibility, otherwise I'd almost certainly have joined many at the end of the line.

Tis a lesson well learned and I look forward to returning with a much better understanding of my weaknesses and how the region can entice them out to play very easily. Never have I understood the term moderation more than I do now.
