Police clear out immigrants at Calais
Police clear out immigrants at Calais
The surprisingly large squatter village near the Eurotunnel entrance where many illegal migrants, mostly Africans and Arabs, now live is being cleared out yet again. Calais is the usual launching point to get to the UK. Riot police come in and hand out some food and tell the squatters to leave the area. No plan to repatriate them, no plan to do anything with them....just "move along". Where on earth are they supposed to go? Sounds like this action makes a bad situation even worse.

At least they are doing something about it. In America, we rather welcome the illegal immigrants. But they don't call them that. They call them undocumented immigrants. See how that changes things?
Re: Police clear out immigrants at Calais
They are only dispersing the illegal immigrants, not solving the problem, not deporting them or making them legal. In this case, doing nothing is better than your version of "doing something". I'm sure the local neighborhood citizens appreciate the now shelter-less, hungry and angry illegal immigrants wandering their streets and alleys with no money and no hope.nightmare.believer wrote:At least they are doing something about it.
