Stand-up Comedy with Chris Henry
Stand-up Comedy with Chris Henry
Scottish comedian Chris Henry brings his raw and hilarious show about travelling the world to the Kingdom of Cambodia! Chris has spent the last few years circling the globe while honing his craft, and has come to the conclusion that it doesn't quite make sense. He regales tales from his voyages in his signature silly, fun and sexy way.
Joining him in rocking the Comedy in Cambodia stages is fellow Scottish stand up Steven Halcrow as host, with the brilliant Nathan Jaiyeola from the US supporting.
Shows are on Wednesday 24 May at Ecran cinema in Kampot, Thursday 25 May at Box Office in Phnom Penh, Friday 26 May at Show Box in Phnom Penh, and Saturday 27 May at The Harbour in Siem Reap. Go to the Comedy in Cambodia Facebook page for more details on each gig. https://www.facebook.com/comedyincambodia/
Tickets are $7 each, or just $5 if you play it smart and buy them in advance from the venues.
CHRIS HENRY - HEADLINER
Chris started his career in entertainment as a Butlins Red Coat, until he packed it in after six years discovering that he couldn't sing or dance. That old-school no-nonsense/all-nonsense influence has bled through into his style of stand-up, which is refreshingly unpretentious and focused-on-the-funny.
Leaving the caravan parks behind, he has become a headliner on the UK comedy circuit, dazzling clubs with his honest anecdotes and flirtatious observations that toe the line of decency with masterful control.
Chris was nominated for the Perth Fringe World comedy award in 2016 as part of the Best of the Scottish Comedian of the Year compilation, was a finalist in Scottish Comedian of the Year 2009 and has performed on BBC TV and radio.

STEVEN HALCROW - HOST
After four years learning on the Scottish comedy circuit, Steven moved to Asia where he quickly established himself as a regular on the Phnom Penh scene and became a regular host and support act at the city's monthly international comedy nights.
Since moving East, he has appeared in shows all over the region including in Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Myanmar and Thailand. He founded Stand Up Siem Reap, Temple Town's favourite/only comedy club, and has hosted Glen Wool and Martin Mor, as well as some of the best comics based in Asia such as William Childress and Turner Sparks.
Steven has also opened for Ari Shaffir in Bangkok on the comics' only Southeast Asian show to date.
NATHAN JAIYEOLA - FEATURE
Nathan got his start in stand up on his college comedy team in Philadelphia. He then spent years crafting his skills in bars and clubs throughout the United States, before setting his sights abroad. He has performed all across Asia and is currently based in Saigon, where he recently won the 2017 Magners Comedy Competition.
