Re: NEW ! Information on Work Permits.
why do you keep singling ME out to spin your diatribe on? I'm just saying what likely is true, new classifications will happen with new fees, and it will become more like Thailand where you gotta pay baht every other time you move. Tho it will mean fewer long stay twats I suppose, excluding the ones that can use the net to make money. Spout what you will, just leave me out of it as you don't seem to get what I'm saying.
Re: NEW ! Information on Work Permits.
The Residence Permit/Certificate of residence does indeed exist, very simple to obtain from your local Sangkat, as long as your landlord registered you with them as is their responsibility to do so.

And if your landlord has not "yet" registered the lease, you're screwed.

I don't rent, co-own with my wife. Since I've been living in the same place for 16 years I probably have one, just never needed it.

As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

they exist;
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

I know! But other readers may not be as established. So, tip to the wise, when you get a lease, make sure the landlord has registered it at the sangkat.

Re: NEW ! Information on Work Permits.
Even if the landlord didn't register you and your lease, it is still possible to obtain, but might cost a little tea money.
If you own, or live at your partners house, then it is up to you to register yourself as a 'foreign alien' at the Sangkat.
And yes, the ER visa EOS's have been available since Sept last year, although it appears that many visa agents are still unaware of the different options available when applying for an E-type visa EOS... So make sure you confirm with the agent prior to submitting.
