AEON Mall Phnom Penh Opening 20 June

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

That's fine.

Dropped by yesterday. Food-court Jam packed mid afternoon on a Tuesday. Two level Department store above fully stocked with a broad selection of merchandise. No clothing appeared to cater to western sizes though.

The rest of the mall is a mess. Entry signs said for construction workers only, but I ducked in and had a walkabout anyway.

Almost all the units have signage up already --- suggesting a very high occupancy rate.

The place was a beehive of activity --- Never saw no many Cambodian construction workers working with such a sense of urgency. They are going to have a tough time being ready for June 30 Launch.

Dropped into Browns for a $4 Coffee and their WIFI in not even working yet (router signal but no connection behind it). The Blast of paint fumes and other assorted chemicals immediately outside also nearly made nauseous not to mention the mega-decibel sounds of cutting metal, drilling, pounding.

Definitely not a good experience yet but looks like it will be a nice mall when they get things wrapped up.
Taxi, we'd rather walk. Huddle a doorway with the rain dogs

What exactly does "awesome" mean in this context?

Confused looking, small breasted Khmer girls dressed as Alpine frauleins, apparently.

Yep...that word has now lost any and all meaning possible...I wish that someone would kill that word. ASAP.

It's so bad now that even SD's pathetic (but laudable) attempt to use it ironically has lost all power and bite...that's when a word has truly been defeated by the inarticulate masses...

Most people don't even pay any attention to how they express themselves, let alone listening to what others are saying...no news there...
