Simon Had a Bad Day in Phnom Penh and Here's His Story...
Sounds legit.
"Can anyone help?
A local smashed into me on the road and it looks like I have to pay, so I went to a shop to get phone credit to call the police and the lady overcharged me. I called the police and while I was waiting I stopped someone for a packet of cigarettes to calm me, they overcharged me. When the police came they shouted a lot and said jail, you go to jail. They also said I can give them $100 and go home. I called my Khmer wife to come and help, she was busy playing cards with our rent money, so I asked if she could send one of our kids in a Tuk Tuk. She did that but the Tuk Tuk cost $42 because of traffic jams and petrol has gone up the driver convinced me. At this point the ambulance came to attend both my broken legs and asked for $500 to take me to the hospital. I crawled into the safety of a waiting taxi, but he immediately told me his meter was broken, this was the last of my concerns, so off we went. After our trip from Central Market to Riverside the driver asked for $78 fare, as I already knew petrol was expensive these days I payed him. When I got out a foreigner approached me with his story of being robbed and as he had no passport could I give him ten dollars to eat, then a cripple, a mental, a gang of glue sniffing dwarves and a scabby whore asked me for money. Interesting place! So I was wondering does anyone know a good guesthouse, I might stay on for a while. I need ground floor with swords and bombs and a fridge would be nice."
