in that situation they're given 48 hours to choose: give us a different screen name to change it to, or have it removed from them. if the poster isn't on here under a different name (generally that's how we know it's happening, they complain) then we delete it. if they are we change the email and pass and hand it off to them to do as they like with, after removing all of the posts its made.

And for the record, I don't think you've come anywhere near crossing any lines, Stroppy. You've kept it lighthearted, and we appreciate it!!

Hey, it's your site. All yours Digg3r, I said I'd follow whatever the admins said.General Mackevili wrote:To everyone: Digger is exactly right...
I know some people want to air their opinions that they aren't allowed to air elsewhere, and that's perfectly fine, but we will NOT allow you to just flame and insult K440 or its members/admin/mods...
I don't want to call this a "warning" per se, but now you ALL know what is expected.

You can't blame us for being a little negative about treatment from that site. They do deserve a few digs here and there. We all helped contribute to that forum's success to some degree by keeping conversation going and contributing new threads. I won't dwell on it, though. Moving on...Digg3r wrote: Keep it negative, keep flaming and create k440 2.0.
Or, make it humorous, light, informative and you'll have a great place to post.
Re: How can one go about not getting ban?
I see your old posts are still left there, though. My posts have been removed completely. As of yesterday the only trace of me ever having posted there is when someone else quoted me.phuketrichard wrote:i was not banned ever in 8 years ( even with the mess with Andy didn't result in a Ban)
but after posting on ANOTHER forum
I was DELETED!!!

phuketrichard, if I'm not much mistaken, you've already found your way back. Today I read a post on that other site that I'd have attributed to you with almost 100% confidence, just that it was sporting another (newish) member's name. That of course isn't uncommon there, other forums certainly ban less users but they really mean business when they do.

Re: How can one go about not getting ban?
I think the best way to go about bannings, is for a moderator to suggest that someone should be banned (also stating the reason, other than spam of course) and then it must be put to a vote.
If 50% of the voters agree within 24 hours... than that person gets banned. If you let just a few people decide who get's banned than the person who gets banned will always have a personal grudge.
However if you put it to a vote, the person that gets banned will have to accept that the community is in agreement... and if they want to be a part of the community will have to adjust their behaviour accordingly.
In other words, let the masses decide.
The site can't lose with this type of mentality - because the community will almost always be in consensus and when they are not, ie 49% to 51%, interesting conversations will ensue.

The cedar roasted asparagus has good chew. I don't know how to enjoy it, so I'll Instagram it instead.
Re: How can one go about not getting ban?
Interesting concept. I think it would certainly be worth a try. But I think it should just apply to controversial posters. The admins should still have the power to instantly ban people for spamming or for really bad offences (outing other posters, paedophiles, etc).

I love the idea! And that's super easy to set up (yes/no poll).jah steu wrote:Interesting concept. I think it would certainly be worth a try. But I think it should just apply to controversial posters.
And as Jah said, we will still make many decisions ourselves when needed.
Great for things that could go either way and we'd rather let the community decide on.
Worth a try, thanks, Socrates!
