Re: Question Regarding Marriage
Ahhh ok not bad then, if I was to get something with my letterhead that says I make x amount per month (in Canadian money of course), and worked there x amount of time and doing x job for them, would that be an acceptable for the requirement they seek?
Re: Question Regarding Marriage
Yes, make sure it looks official and is signed. And yes, it is one of the documents that needs to be notarized by your Embassy.

Re: Question Regarding Marriage
Again everyone thank you for all your help, and PSD-Kiwi my fiancee is calling Mr. Ung Vantha now for information, hope everything will go well cheers!
Re: Question Regarding Marriage
My now wife paid a guy to handle it. Was almost painless. Had a contact in the MoFA & MoI so we're handed everything and walked through it. The local Sangkat was assholes. Even with all the paperwork, still had to pay $200 to marry in the province.
Re: Question Regarding Marriage
How much did you have to pay the fixer, and how long did it all take?
I am constantly hearing of people paying $1k +++ using a fixer (the average price I usually hear is about $4k!)...stupid really as the process is so bloody simple and inexpensive.
The Sangkat well and truly ripped you off didn't they, $200! Cheeky bastards!

Re: Question Regarding Marriage
It was $100 at the local Sangkat to sign the register. That shitweasel with the glasses at the MFAIC took a $1200 bribe off of me, although they did get it done in a month. And then three weeks more to correct the mistakes. Plus $300 to the MI for my wife's hookey birth certificate. $60 for the blood test, and 50 fucking dollars from the UK embassy to photocopy my passport ID page. You abject cunts.

Because they aren't used to corruption in their home country and don't realize it's the whole system in Cambodia. And in the case of marriage their dick tells them it's an investment in the future.

As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

Re: Question Regarding Marriage
Did you personally have to go to the Sangkat and sign? Or can your wife just go down with the paperwork? Also did you have to go meet the village chief and police as well? I'm trying to get an idea of the number of trips I need to go to get it all done.
