sorry for his troubles,
but how much did he bring on himself?
worst comes to worst the embassy will send him home (an usually make his passport invalid for travel till he pays them back)
I had to go that route once from India back in 1976

gen mac is organizing the payment so send him a PM
Re: CEO and Khmer440 reach a GENTLEMEN'S AGREEMENT!
Maybe he just needs a little short term support. Let us remember, he is not asking for it. It was simply an idea from one of the posters on here, who knows him in the real world.
A small amount of 'On ya feet money' might just help him over this bad time but it also sends out a great and positive message, that he is not alone, something, I am guessing he is feeling right now.
A few dollars from a good, few people, will add up to enough to keep the wolf from the door and could just provide a stepping stone back on to the ladder, so to speak.

Yeah, I think he's presently in a bind and could genuinely use a little extra cash at the moment.StroppyChops wrote:If you vouch that it's a genuine need, theGeneral, we're good for some dollar.
And for what it's worth, I've known him to be a hard worker, and not one to ever ask for handouts.
And from talking to him recently, he seems to be proactively trying to change his money situation at the moment, so power to him for that.
Glad to see a few people already helping out where they can!

Re: CEO and Khmer440 reach a GENTLEMEN'S AGREEMENT!
Guys why don't we combine helping someone out and our favourite past time? Why not do a get to know you drink (at a sponsors bar) where we can all put faces to names and at the same time put a few bucks in for our chosen guy/girl.
The donation is entirely up to each person and you would be under no obligation, to donate that is, drinking which is mandatory.

That is another really good idea Gary. Lots of little bits. Sort of Crowd Funding for Chickens but this is more than just Chicken Feed.Garry.Crabtree wrote:Guys why don't we combine helping someone out and our favourite past time? But if drinking really is mandatory then I wouldn't be able to make it out.
I'm on hiatus.

Yeah, I don't think he or anyone else is saying he didn't get himself in this position. No matter how he got there, it's a shitty situation to be in at present.phuketrichard wrote:

Drinking AND helping? That's a winning combination right there!Garry.Crabtree wrote:Guys why don't we combine helping someone out and our favourite past time?
