A nasty little sting (OUCH!)
Jesse Morton replied to an ad - which, unbeknown to him, had been placed by the piggies - and went to a motel.
He was then busted for being naughty and - incidentally - for drugs
https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/pu ... 95ec340890
Is this sort of Police Department sting / calculated entrapment widespread in the USA?

It was to an ad on this website that hapless Jesse responded ...

Re: A nasty little sting (OUCH!)
fully believe it. In the mid nineties I worked for an airline based in Miami. Within one month the DEA had set up three of our young and financially most debil employees to bring 1 k of cocaine each from Bogota to Miami, where other agents were waiting for them. They all got 21 years, mandatory. (No parole)
Now having been on US turf only for a short while, I already knew three bad ass criminals, that would not ever have been criminals had they not been talked into it.
Short after I met a pilot who had flown fully laden DC 3s from Mexico into the US. His uncle was a Senetor, he had been fired from a Navy pilots position and literally wanted to fly drugs out of his own criminal energy. He thought of it as an adventure. Guess what, it took a decade to catch him and he got only two years. Better yet, he is flying again.
The three guys mentioned above were not anywhere near the asshole the latter one still is.
