Junta Grants Police Powers to Military

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Junta Grants Police Powers to Military

Post by obelisks »

now it's getting really worrying  now it really feels like Cambodia is a better place than Thailand
EXACT SAME THING happening in Europe about 75 years ago when Hitler gave all his SS commandos police powers

" BANGKOK — Soldiers last night were granted sweeping authority to conduct warrantless searches of homes, seize assets and detain civilians without charge."

Why go so far back, 75 years ago hardly anyone remembers. Take a more recent example, the National Guard all over the place in the deep south of the good ole US of A trying to prevent looting . Curfew and all...
That did remind me most of BKK in the last two decades.

In case you did not notice, yes there are new things to be added daily in world politics. The Nazi Regime, Slavery, Napoleon, the Vikings or Romans are not part of it, they would be considered history, not news.
