Funny Neologisms!!

If you have something so weird, strange or off-topic to post and think it doesn't belong in any other forum; you're probably right. Please put all your gormless, half-baked, inane, glaikit ideas in here. This might also be a place where we throw threads that appear elsewhere that don't belong ANYWHERE end up, instead of having to flush them. FORUM RULES STILL APPLY.

Good list Jamie. Anyone has a few of their own to add? I'll bet UT will come up with some.

"Ta" is Northern English dialect for Thank you

"Ta-Ra" is Northern English dialect for "goodbye" ... https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/ta-ra
the southerners say "Ta Ta" posh twats... https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/ta-ta

again another example as to how different English English is to "Standard English"

Ta now knows more about Northern English variants of Ta than he could have guessed possible. They're not exactly neologisms but that's the luck of the draw I guess. Thanks for the clarification Jamie. English is indeed a rich language.

Northern English is so unknown to most English speakers that it is both interesting and frustrating lol

its been a hot topic of discussion recently, usually when i find myself talking slight pidgin English to barangs, i then apologise and try to explain that if i spoke normally they would struggle to understand what im saying, so they test me, then agree, and i revert back to speaking like a twat lol :BangHead:
