Senior officer smashes into motorbike, flees, crashes:Sihanoukville.
Official Hits Motorbike, Flees, Crashes Again
by Sek Odom | November 19, 2016
The chief of economic crime police in Preah Sihanouk province was being questioned on Friday night after police said he smashed into a motorbike carrying two Indonesian men and drove off before crashing into the curb of a roundabout.
Prom Pov, chief of the provincial traffic police, said that Chao Meng was driving home after having dinner with a colleague on Thursday night when he crashed his SUV into a motorbike near the Snake House restaurant and menagerie in Sihanoukville.
“At about 10 p.m., he was driving his SUV from his dinner with another police officer from the Interior Ministry, then he hit a motorbike with two Indonesian nationals,” Mr. Pov said, adding that the pair sustained “minor injuries.”
After knocking the two men from the motorbike, Mr. Meng continued to drive before plowing into a curb, destroying his front tires and coming to a halt on the roundabout, he said. Despite the official fleeing the scene after the collision, Mr. Pov was hesitant to label the incident a hit-and-run.
“I cannot say whether he was trying to escape or not,” Mr. Pov said. “He kept driving after hitting the motorbike, then shortly after he also hit the edge of the dolphin roundabout.”
Police had not arrested Mr. Meng as the accident was “minor”...

Anyway, it was a hit and crash, not a hit and run. The guy must've been sozzled, but he's a police official so it was not '" serious" since he was not injured in the accident.
Be careful on the roads of SV this weekend, he's probably still driving around somewhere.

I think you should be careful on all the roads in SHV, especially after about 9pm. I used to drive very quickly in the UK, zipped about everywhere. Here I drive like a decrepit old man.

Cambodia DailyDeputy provincial police chief Y Sokha said that Chao Meng, head of the provincial economic crime police, had been questioned on Friday evening and later released without charge.
The Indonesians sustained only slight injuries in the initial crash; the SUV fared much worse after Mr. Meng proceeded to crash it into the curb of a roundabout.
“Regarding the law, there is no need to imprison him because he was not too drunk,” he said, adding that the Indonesian men had not filed a complaint.
Mr. Sokha said that the decision on whether to arrest Mr. Meng would be made by his superiors at a later date.

The two Indonesian guys look fine. Let's hope that the General was not to shaken up by his adventure, and that his car will be back on the road in no time, ready for more spills and thrills.
