American Expat Jimmy Lorencillo Dies in Phnom Penh, Cambodia From Alcohol Related Liver Failure
Phnom Penh, Cambodia: An American expat, Jimmy Lorencillo from San Francisco, California, has died in Calmette Hospital from alcohol related liver and kidney failure at the very young age of 34.
He was admitted to Calmette Hospital on October 19, and put in ICU, costing $600 a day.
American expat, close friend and owner of Cadillac Bar and Grill, Chantz Wade, quickly started a GoFundMe account to help raise funds to get Jimmy back to the US for better medical care, but sadly he passed away yesterday before it could happen.
They managed to raise $4,400. It's nice to see fellow expats help each other out when an emergency like this happens, and while it looks like he might not have been able to survive at this stage anyways, it's good to see friends and family helping someone in need like this when they're far from home.
May Jimmy rest in peace.
Here is a quote from the GoFundMe page set up to help raise funds for Jimmy Lorencillo:
" Friends and family as you may know by now our dear friend Jimmy Lorencillo is fighting for his life right now. My name is Chantz Wade and I am trying to help the family raise money to get Jimmy healthy enough to get back to the US for desperately needed medical care. This is an urgent and immediate matter. Due to a medical condition he has experienced liver failure, kidney failure, pneumonia, ascites (fluid in abdomen), and hepatic encephalopathy (brain confusion). He has been in Calmet Hospital in ICU for the past week. We desperately need money to help save Jimmy’s life, the ICU unit is about $600 USD per day and he has been in there since the 19th of this month. Please contact the family for more interment details of the situation but at this point please donate what you can to help save Jimmy! A very dear and sincere Thank You in advance!
Help spread the word!"

I've known Jimmy from around town, and he's a nice guy. Really sad to hear this news.
Ran into him in Cadillac last month and he seemed perfectly fine and as lively as ever. Didn't think it would be the last time we spoke.
Condolences to his friends and family.

Poor guy.
R.I.P
It is an awfully young age to die, especially from liver failure, but if one picks up Hep from bad food and it is not diagnosed it will accelerate liver damage, same with various medicines, even common paracetamol. Take care of yourselves folks; don't be afraid to see the doctor once or twice a year.
