A Takeo province rice field strewn with poison to deal with a recurring rat problem led to the deaths of 10 cows when they were brought from neighbouring Kampot to graze, police said yesterday.

And it's ok for people to eat the rice from this field then ? If it's enough to kill a cow, I hate to think what it would do to a kid. The cows eat more of course, but it's still a worry. Or does the poison 'disappear' by the time the rice is harvested ?
They seem to use all sorts of pesticides on the rice here (source: random news articles), and with the dubious amount of food control in Cambodia, it seems obvious that alot of this shit remains in the food and is poisoning the population.
Including us of course. Who doesn't eat rice in Cambodia ?
