I don't know what happened nor do I know who was at fault, but an assault is NOT an "accident."

As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

GSM Security Guards Beat Up A Foreigner and His Girlfriend
If I go out I normally don't get home before 4 am so I should listen to my own advice.Luigi wrote:I use the midnight hour bell as my beacon.kiwiincambodia wrote:

You don't get drunk and aggressive with GSM security and expect them to respond in a polite and civil manner.
I feel the same way about the frat boys who get their asses kicked in Thailand.

None out there on the web.Cam Nivag wrote:Can we get some photos of the foreigner? My Internet connection is crap.
He's not been identified and isn't in any photos. There is a short, poor quality video here http://khmeread.com/posts/14617I and there is no foreigner in shot. I bet he slipped away as soon as she was assaulted.
I found kampucheathmey.com description of Golden Suriya most interesting.

Re: GSM Security Guards Beat Up A Foreigner and His Girlfriend
^ CEOCambodiaNews is right. He's the guy. His names not been given, but there is a clear photo of him on the front page of today's Nokor Thom Daily:
He's the Khmer women's husband according to Nokor Thom, and they are both regulars at GSM.
According to the wife he got drunk and went off around the plaza randomly and drunkenly chatting to customers in other bars which offended other drinkers. She followed behind apologising to the people her husband offended on her husband's behalf, some people weren't happy with the apologies and called the security. They stated hitting her husband, she steps in (again to sort things out) but the security start hitting her.
According to the security the husband and wife go to GSM every night. They describe the husband as a proprietorial, jealous man who regularly confronts anyone who looks at him or his wife. On the night of the incident her husband was going around as usual looking for trouble and was castigating a group of young men who were drinking at a table.
Wife comes up to stop her husband but the youths instead attack her. The security guards had nothing to do with it.
The newspaper seem to be leaning towards believing the security's version of events.
