Mr Butterfly Hostess Bar On Street 136 Raided For the 3rd Time Over Loud Music

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

They should be on a winner with the curved outdoors counter like the place on the corner of Nana Plaza. But the girls are pretty ordinary and the passing trade is nothing like Nana obviously. The ladyboy who has been around for years, I think she started at Up Down proudly showed me her third Australian tourist visa! I have boyfriend in Sydney.

I know, it's their culture.
I got this response when I whined about this during my 1st extended stay in snooky a couple years ago. where I learned about it after a '3 am drunk stumble in' and all to short sleep.

I got to wondering just how long khmers have had electricity, amplifiers and huge metal speakers..(especially in the more remote areas)..?

it can't possibly be one of the 'traditions' that's been around for too many years...

(sure the music/chanting, but not the abnormal amplification!!! )

just sayin'

cheers

Almost a century. Speakers can be run off batteries or generators so you don't necessarily need a grid.

The days of this place are numbered. There was a fight started inside and carried outside over a bill and looked like police involved again. Friday night around midnight. Too early for the drunkest of the drunks to even be out yet. Not sure what I was doing out so early myself? It was two foriegners and one a little bloody. Dont know the ending but looked scary with many shouts from the police at manager lady.
