Some people just don't understand jazz logic. They have no sense of thematic deviation, but will not hesitate to drive in the cacophony of Khmer traffic. What the fuck do I care if some wooden-eared dullard insists I stand in line like a polite note. I buy my eggs in the country.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

no. it's a conversation. sometimes they go a wee bit astray and what's the hurt.
want to stay on topic, try Wikipedia.
folks may even learn something otherwise not brought up!

I agree and there are usually some good laughs too(said as more of a er), easy enough to floss over the offtopic stuff if people don't want to read it.

I generally agree with this.Bertros wrote:... it's a conversation.
I think it's also important to consider the thoughts of the person who started the topic.
If they started a serious topic and it's obvious they wanted it to stay serious, that's taken into consideration.
While I don't think the OP should be able to "set the rules" for their topic, their intentions should be considered.
A balance is always good.
"Life is too important to take seriously."
"Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh."
