Where to buy a laptop?

Post by Rama »

Old laptop pissed me off and I smashed the screen. Was loading too slowly and crashing often.
Got a good 4 years out of him anyhow.

Now I need a half decent laptop. I'm not that tech. Thinking Acer or Dell with i5 processor. Mid range. Mid price.
Importantly I would like a licensed Windows 8 operating system installed correctly.

Anyone got any recommendations or advice.
Is there a one stop trustworthy store I can go to to get a new model laptop?
Or should I wait until I go to Thailand at the end of the month and get one from a department store?

I've bought components from Thailand in the past - personally I'd buy a laptop from there rather than Cambodia if I was going there anyway. I've watched the local guys clean and reseal used devices for sale as new too often here - they're exceptional at it.

Check out PTC. They'll be able to sell you a licenced copy of Windows 8 too.

I bought a laptop there last year, and was happy with the price and service.

Thanks for giving him more options though.

I did go to V-Tech recently to upgrade my ram. Also happy with the prices and service there.

Bought a printer from V-Tech the other day, they were fine. I'd go back to them.

Cheers guys. I'll check out v tech 1st and then Chantra. PTC I know but will ignore:I like to help small businesses (being a failed small business owner myself) but thanks for the suggestion.

Unlike vladimir I may well have a job soon (interview tomorrow) so I may have to get a laptop ASAP.
