Man Arrested for Attempting Rape of 86 Years Old Woman

Kandal: Around 23:00 on 15 September 2016, a man was attempting to raped a 86 years old old, but he failed to do so, instead he violently hit the old woman.

The victim lives in Kampong Kong commune, Koh Thom district, Kamdal province., police said. Adding that, the suspect named Bong Theoun, male 38 years old, living in Kampong Kong commune, Koh Thom district, Kandal province.

Police said, the man was seen chasing children in the village and the villagers chased him trying to beat him, but he fled the village. However, around 23:00 he went into the old woman home and stripped off her clothes. The victim screamed out loud asking for help. So, the suspect hit her resulted in a few injuries.

After having heard the voice asking for help, the neighbors went to the old woman house and saw the suspect was beating her. Therefore, they jumped in and arrested the man and later alerted the police.
