Virak Buntham Runs Speed Boat To Koh Rong And Koh Rong Samleom

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

They certainly have cut an ugly scar out of the natural forest all the way around the southern end of the island, and started bull-dozing a lot of the jungle along Soksan beach too. The destruction in just 12 months between visits in Feb 2015 and Feb 2016 was awful, from an untouched natural paradise to what looked like a nuclear bomb had gone off, was terrible to see

Boracay in the Phillipines is probably about the same size as Koh Rong, and that island has virtually been completely built over & developed, and crowds of tourists everywhere. I can only hope that Koh Rong doesn't suffer the same fate, but if the Chinese build an airport on the island, who knows how bad it may get

Just checked Google Maps and they now have hi-res of the southern end of Koh Rong so you can zoom in on individual trees and see where the bulldozers have been.

Koh Touch - Koh Rong

And this is the Royal Sands Hotel due to open this year on Sok San Beach Image
