Cambodia Lottery-barang mind wants to know

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Vietnam. Now illegal but most people are used to it and supposedly hit more. People still play because lottery sellers pay off the police.
Cambodia lottery is newer and you have to get certified to sell it. But is legal.

Now cards and louto(sounds like lotto but is kind of like a bingo game) is illegal but cops get paid off.
The one with the bits of paper at the beach and around shv is some sort of rip off of the Vietnamese lottery. I still haven't worked out how they pay out or if different regions have different rates. Playing cards for money is pretty flagrant, like right by the beach path or on people's shop floors. No one cares here, the casinos are full of Cambodians, too. I've not read of a bust in shv for any of it.

My wife plays daily. Then in the evening, she checks the winning numbers on this site http://vina24h.com/ then phones her mother to pass on the winning numbers.
