Digi - surprising service

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Digi - surprising service

Post by StroppyChops »

The new apartment has an existing Digi cable and I knew I could pick up unlimited access at 2Mbps for $12pcm so I wandered into the Digi office on Sunday and signed up. Although there's a live modem already on the wall the connection would take "three to five working days" and I politely asked if this meant two weeks. A couple of internal phone calls led to, "Okay, we be there this Wednesday, our man call day before to make time." At 3.30pm today I whinged to Mrs Stroppy that Cambodge telcos are just like Telstra and that I bet we wouldn't be hearing from Digi this week. Five minutes later the Digi tech called to arrange a time for tomorrow. I know there's a lot of negative comment out there about Digi's tech support, but so far I'm impressed. I haven't had (domestic) cable Internet before and I talked Digi into an unthrottled connection, so I'm looking forward to seeing how much better it is than Cellcard's Edge (as in allEDGEdly 3G) connection. If you read this far, you really need a hobby.

Haha, you can't be impressed until you HAVE internet. Then you can be impressed.

The "blame game" is scheduled next.

Have fun!

The service when people are signing up is much better than when you are already hooked in.

No doubt. I'm at the point of being willing to endure dodgy customer service over dodgy connection though.
