Profits for street vendors dry up in wet season

While getting caught in the rain going from place to place can be a major hassle, spare a thought for those whose livelihoods depends on fine weather.

Wet season is a miserable time for Cambodia’s street-food vendors – both uncomfortable and unprofitable, says Vorn Pao, president of the NGO Independent Democratic of Informal Economic Association (IDEA).

“The numbers show that street vendors’ income drops by about half in rainy season. From January to May, they make profit, but from June to November, they cannot make money,” said Pao.

Without proper shelter to protect them from the rain, their products sometimes spoil and customers tend to stay indoors and cook for themselves, he said...http://www.phnompenhpost.com/post-weeke ... ign=buffer

If street vendors have a "strong physical structure," are they street vendors? If this is a 'street vendor' what is "have a strong physical structure" supposed to mean?

? the rainy season fizzled out weeks ago. Would get a heavy shower once a day with maybe a day off here and there... now it's barely raining at all.

Rainy season ends whatever dates the Water Festival is held (varies due to moon cycles).

Hate the overflowing drains spewing black, stinking filth all down the road. Hate flooded streets where the stagnant water is black and may sit for a couple of days.

I love thunderstorms and rain at night too. It's just planning around them and not getting drenched - but previously it was midday to mid-afternoon rainstorms so mostly fairly predictable and easy enough to arrange your day around.

As for the overflowing drains etc, ugh, need a good scrub after wading through that shit.
