Attempted Robbery, Sihanoukville

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Attempted Robbery, Sihanoukville

Post by Sailorman »

I live in a 20 house compound and my landlord has 30 more behind in another compound. We have a high concrete fence with barbed wire, but the landlord won't spend money for good security. We have one guy who sleeps by the front gate at night. Well, It came back to bite the landlord in the ass a couple nights ago. Thieves with masks, duct-tape, rope, knives and a bolt cutter cut the lock on the back of his house and entered. They thought he was alone, but his family just happened to be home also. (Not usual as they are usually out of country.)(btw/ he is Cambodian) When the family started to scream, the thieves ran away, which probably saved the guys life. We have had police all over the place for a couple days, but they are useless as usual. He still didn't get the message and won't pony up for good security.

I have a Cambodian friend who has a 30 house compound across town and he has 24hr security with two guys always on duty. You drive in, they are on you right away.

A night before all this happened some one/two was walking through a small/open building beside my house, probably on the way to test my windows. They tripped over two fans I had by my hammock making a bunch of noise. By the time I got outside with my tactical Kukri knife and electronic stunning billy club they were gone. (lucky for them as I haven't had fun with those in a long time.) (the area they were going too I had killed a poisonous viper a couple days before (2 and a half feet long.)

"my tactical Kukri knife"

What would you have done with the Kukri knife?
Have you ever attacked someone with a Kukri knife?
Did they live?

Yes on Knives, no on this particular knife and I really wanted to test it out. Years ago I had a friend that was well connected (some would say mafia), he once gave me some sage advice. "If you kill someone, never tell anyone."

I am surprise you know what a Kukri is. My weapon of choice (not a carry around weapon) is/was a semi-auto Beretta pistol in .22cal with a suppressor and sub-sonic frangible rounds. (double tap/two shots, no noise.) The star of my collection, but very hard to carry around is a Browning 1919A4 in .30cal, belt fed.(made into semi-auto.)
My favorite carry pistols were a AMT Backup.45acp semi-auto, and a Charter Arms Bulldog Pug in .44cal Special. Image

Of course when you have friends with things like a Thompson full auto machine gun in .45acp things can be fun, but very loud and messy.

A little more quiet is a full auto mac10 in 45acp with a sionics suppressor. 32 empty shells in the air at the same time before the first one hits the ground. Notice the smoke as this picture was taken during firing.

Here in Camo all I can have is knives, but they are good for close work if your into that sort of thing. They do give robbers something to remember you by also, if they can remember.

As I've said before, people that didn't grow up in America or where raised by hippies will never understand the American culture. Keep watching main stream media and drink the cool-aid.

Normal County? You mean France or Germany that have taken away a private persons right to defend themselves against attacks by Islamic nut cases and depend on their governments to do so?(One of the first things Hitler did was take away the right to keep and bear arms.) How's letting thousand of Islamic nutters into your country "normal." How's that "normal" working for you? Keep working hard at your jobs for your families and have the money your government takes from you be given to support illegal aliens that have invaded your country or Islamic nutters your government has allowed into your country. Americans are getting tired of the illegals in our country and hopefully after Nov. our government will be escorting them all back across our borders.

BTW/ Traveling in Southeast Asia for 35+ years, being prepared has saved my ass twice. Twice I would have been laying in a gutter bleeding to death, not the other guy(s).

ironically american gun owners are killing far far more fellow americans than any "islamic mutters" ever will but dont let facts,or common sense, get in the way of your ludicrous rhetoric

as ive said many times you have never used any weapon on any person ever and you never will

bluster bluster bluster

oh and how did they know they had duct tape and knives if they ran away?
did they drop it in fear when they heard you lived there?

Japan banned handguns and they had five deaths by firearms in 2014. So, if they're 127 million, that means the US, if they banned handguns, would have about 15 firearm deaths per annum. You had a mass killing (4+) every day in the US last year, France and Germany are still miles behind, mere drips in the ocean - the US is in the same league as places like Honduras and Brazil, as somewhere where thousands of people get shot every year. It takes Trump-like leaps of logic to not put those two ideas together.

Sinboy: What's of interest here is that everyone knows you just a flaming infantile troll, so I consider the source on your comments. Still not man enough to have a set down talk/meet? A simple yes or no will do. Yes, just a troll hiding behind the internet. Just run back to your momma, that's if you knew who she or your father were.

Talking about the 2nd Amendment and US carry laws with anyone who hasn't lived it or are from countries were that right was taken away years ago, is like having a conversation on quantum physics with an ameba. It feels good to voice what you know and show shining intellect, but in the end your just talking to a mindless blob with a one cell outlook on life. Its interesting what governments can impose on people when they have been fed a steady diet of mindless crap all their lives and believe everything the corrupt media feeds them.(just look at the Americans voting for the Hildabeast and bought off media like CNN/MSNBC/CBS/NBC that feeds them crap.) BBC=Boring British Comments

Islam will keep attacking the defenseless German and French public and the authorities and police will be a day late and a dollar short every time as no one can shoot back. People bent on mass murder with firearms will most always chose a "gun free" place (like schools in America and the whole of Europe.) Offense is the best Defense. Go after the Imam's and Mosques where this hate is coming from. Wake up world, its a holy war and our side is losing.

Please, add to the subject of the thread, not diverge into mindless flaming drivel. Anyone been robbed in Camo-land?
