Re: Poker Question...
Good pickup, I didn't see which version of poker he was playing. My list above is correct for ALL forms of poker that DON'T have their own win variation.kiwiincambodia wrote:While correct you can not use all 4 cards in your hand for Omaha as stated above. So with 2 cards his best hand is a straight not a full house.

Re: Poker Question...
That's what I've been playing. Good fun. I have yet to try the Omaha tables.UKJ wrote:Better to learn no limit hold em, as you can play more cash games, tournaments and sit n go's, live or online. I have ebooks and coaching vids if you need any guidance.
I was first playing Poker Deluxe, then I found the WSOP app, which a MUCH better interface that gives you better statistics on your playing, and even ranks your hand on the screen as you play.
Please send me the ebook, much needed and appreciated!
Check your PM.
Thx.

Re: Poker Question...
5 points for explaining the most basic element of Omaha. Nice.
I was once in a game where the board came down all the same suit. It got checked down to the river then people started betting into each other. Showdown....
P1: Top pair
P2: Top pair better kicker
P3: Counterfeited flush (with a 3)
I explained that it was a split pot because everyone was playing the board. Got a free drink out of it.
PS- The owner of 3 Mangos (St 360) is a poker aficionado as are some of the punters.

Re: Poker Question...
it is illegal in the United States as of a few or more years ago. I don't know how safe using a VPN and gambling for money is in the United States. I don't know if they are going after individuals for online gambling, but they did however shut the action of the websites down in the United States. I never was into poker but had some friends who put themselves through uni playing it.
I'll give ya 500 Riel for it...

That's changed recently.Sir_Quality_U_Feel wrote:it is illegal in the United States as of a few or more years ago.
You are typically supposed to be located in a select few states, Nevada, New Jersey, and some others.
As far as playing it on sites that Americans aren't supposed to be on sounds pretty sketchy.

Americans are blocked from playing with them.4000islandsguy wrote:Try pokerstars if you like playing online.
I even went all the way through with the registration.
Maybe, just maybe, they'd let Americans play that could prove they're located outside the States, but I'm guessing that's not a feasible option. I'm guessing I still couldn't link it to any of my American accounts anyways.
Sounds like they make you verify everything in many cases too.
That's a good point though. Maybe I'll send them an email asking about American expats, now that's I've already registered with them anyways, and my account has been marked as a "do not allow real money" account.
I'm guessing WSOP will be the first company to come out with a poker app that allows Americans to play with real money.

Set up an account with a Cambodian address. Then get others to transfer money to you using player-to-player transfers.

Re: Poker Question...
Can't you use your Cambodian savings/checking account?
I have a basic Canadia Savings account with an ATM card on it. I realize that being in Cambodia, some big players like PayPal don't accept a Cambodian bank account, maybe the poker sites are the same.
Yes, online gambling was made illegal in America, so having an American checking account might make things difficult.
I don't know or care about the laws regarding this, but common sense would have me assuming that it is not illegal for an AMERICAN to gamble online, as long as you are not using your American accounts AND not doing it inside the US etc.
Gambling is dangerous for a lot of people because all of the sudden, 20 minutes and $100 doesn't really seem like a big deal, until you are down your rent for the month in 35 minutes..... I've had this feeling happen to me in Vegas. Walk into a Casino and all the sudden you feel like you are a millionaire and 100 dollars becomes 10$ in your eyes. Maybe its just me, but I think not.

Re: Poker Question...
Quite a few times I've been saved from losing more than $1k in the casino by my daily ATM withdrawal limit. Sometimes you just don't get the cards. At least when you do get the cards the casino doesn't have a withdrawal limit...
