Personally, if I had a guesthouse, I'd be hunting down a bunch of village sign painters, If there's any left, and having them paint different parts of the property.

Couple hundred won't even cover the paint. I had them give a ballpark figure in early 2013 for a mural on the outside of a guesthouse in Kratie I helped design, $1500 minimum, plus transport, accommodation, food etc. Pretty sure they get paid much more than that, and quite often are in BKK doing big jobs. Last I saw they spent a month or so in the Maldives painting an entire resort.
Its a dying trade, but cambodian painted signs are pretty unique: https://www.google.com.kh/search?q=camb ... EQ_AUIBygB

Re: Looking for artists to paint a guesthouse
As I mentioned, check out Lorns work, very talented and many diverse styles. I will try to post some of his art wprk when I have access to a computer.
Lisa Mam and Peap are also extremely talented, but they stick to the one style mostly...and as someone mentioned, $200 most likely wouldn't cut it for them as they are highly sought after world wide.PSD-Kiwi wrote:Search for "Lorn Cambodian Wall Painter" on FB, he has plenty of photos of his work, extremely talented young Khmer artist.

I believe that was Chifumi, he has thrown up some great pieces around town, his latest piece in Boueng Kak is well worth checking out.kiwiincambodia wrote:Anyone know who did the murals at score bar?
