Suspect Sent to Court After Killing a 5 Year Old Boy by Sawing His Neck

Battambang: A drug addict was arrested by Samlout District police and has been transferred to the courts to prepare a criminal case, after he used an ice saw to saw the neck of a five year old boy who lives in the same village.

At 10:29 in the evening of the 29th of May in Chamkar Srow Village, Kampong Lpou Commune, Battambang Province, there was an extremely brutal murder of a child, Deer Banya, a boy aged 5 years old, whose mother is called Chi Deer, 40 years old, and whose father is called Ong On, 50 years old. Banya died in a pool of blood in his own house, when a murderer used an ice saw to saw his neck. He died when his mother and father were not at home and was killed by the man they had asked to babysit.

A report informs that after the murder of the boy, his father returned home to unexpectedly find his son in a pool of blood with his neck sawn, and discovered an ice saw discarded at the scene. Following this discovery a commotion broke out in the village. Then, the father of the victim ran to report the gruesome discovery to the Samlout District police. The police then followed the instructions of Battambang police commissioner Saw Tet and investigated thoroughly which led to the arrest of a suspect, Heng Pen, 17 years old, who lives nearby to the house the child victim.

Furthermore, the initial police report surmises that the suspect was angry with the child victim because he was crying loudly and disturbing the rest of the suspect, the suspect is also suspected of being a drug addict.

This is beyond brutal. Is this one of those deaths where the perp would likely get out of any trouble if he was able to produce a few thousand dollars?

What is Cambodia coming to when you can't throw a couple thousand dollars at a murder charge to make it go away? I blame Starbucks.
