AEON Mall Phnom Penh Opening 20 June

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I honestly thought Phnom Penh had an IMax theatre when I first moved here. Very misleading.

I hope to dog they have decent safety equipment and procedures, and the fire escape doors aren't permanently locked.

Lucky Soriya, Sovanna etc. are tragedies waiting to happen

(You're both so keen that you almost sound like you're advertising for the mall... so much enthusiasm for a shopping mall is yet another wonder from the kingdom.) But each to his own...

Hope it lives up to your(high) expectations!!!
I haven't been out of the country minus a trip to Bangkok for our son in over 3yrs. I won't lie, I miss some of the material things I've been accustomed to back in the States. So yes I went to Burger King with my family, enjoyed the high tech toilets and hand blowers, my son loved the children's bathroom complete with mini-toilets/stalls, mini-urinals and sinks. One thing everyone has to come to grips with is that you will never be Cambodian. So there are things you might occasionally miss and that's ok.

Btw, supposedly the theatre has 4d complete with smell enhanced movies. What the heck is that?

For real? The fire escape doors are locked? I saw their fire safety course. It looked pretty intense and was headed up by the Japanese.

Yeah that was poorly worded. The questions were out of amazement that the fire doors were locked at Soriya. I wasn't referring to the doors/safety course at Aeon.
