And Chinese NY is not a holiday in Cambodia, but ... same problems as KNY but it's not official.

I sussed the reason for that out this year. It's because just about every Cambodian with money here is either Sino-Khmer or Chinese. And having Chinese blood makes them prefer Chinese to Khmer New Year. Ok, but my point is that the "official" holidays are just the tip of the iceberg. Like the fact that everyone takes days off before and after KNY etc. Do the Thais take more unofficial days off than the Cambodians ?

they took holidays BUT they had go to school 180 days/year
Thai schools... not sure
