Siem Reap: Siem Reap provincial court has sentenced a 60 -years-old Vietnamese man to be in jail for 28 years with a find of 60 million real, accusing of illegal drug transportation from Ecuador to Cambodia.

Siem Reap vice provincial court, Mr Duch Soksarin, a presiding judge of the criminal case of illegal drug substance transportation told the report on April 26, 2016 that, the hearing on this criminal case was held before Khmer new year, but the guilty verdict had just been recently proclaimed on April 22, 2016.

Having done the hearing, including with some other evidences, the Vietnamese perpetrator had confessed for what he had done. The accused' name is Le Vandang, 60, passport number,B8936383 had been sentenced in jail for 28 years with a find of 60 million real,accusing of illegal drug substance transportation from Ecuador to Cambodia. This is the Cambodian law abuse provided in the article 40, seventh paragraph, third point of the drug control law, he added.

It should be confirmed that, this drug criminal case on the Vietnamese man had done an intervention and arrested on April 16, 2016 after he traveled from Malaysia to Cambodia with MH 65 flight, carrying 5855.52 grams of cocaine hidden in his piano.

My first thought was that it was headed to Thailand via SR. But it does not explain the logic of going via Malaysia.
