Cambodia's Curse

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I didn't feel the book was as bad as people make out. It certainly gives a negative view of Cambodia as far as the UN and the government go.
It does contain quite a lot of insight into how things work here which I found interesting. It certainly isn't all wrong as some may have you believe.

Yes, make your own mind up. It is an easy read, a one weeker at most I would say. I just realised I still have an original copy here at home. If your in PP and can't find it drop me a PM and I can pass it along to you.

HE's Cambodia is a better book. It is very similar to Cambodia's Curse, but it was better thought out.

Edit* CEO automatically changed the name of the book to HE's Cambodia. Mods, don't you think that the name should be able to slide if it is in fact part of a title? I'm recommending a book that doesn't exist now.

I am still currently reading Cambodia's curse, despite the negative parts about the book people talked here, i found it interesting and i will surely finish the book no matter what.

I haven't read HE's Cambodia yet, but i will read it one day. I met the writer in Kampot. He was kinda surprised that i recognised him. He was friendly and down to earth, not to mention, great journalist and writer.
