songkran in Thailand

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

songkran in Thailand

Post by phuketrichard »

gotta love Pattaya and songkran

Boldly going where 1,000 men have gone before right in the middle of Pattaya Soi 6 in broad daylight, in front of hundreds of party people celebrating Songkran.

Even with all the police in place an heavy laws, ( confiscation of motorcycle caught driving drunk)
A total of 508 road accidents yesterday (Apr 15) brought the national death toll for the first five days of the “seven dangerous days” of Songkran to 338, an increase of 35 per cent from a year ago. - In the first five-days of the April 11-17 dangerous period there have been a total of 2,724 road accidents nationwide with 2,891 people injured,
Drink-driving remained the major cause of crashes at 33.8%, followed by speeding at 30.3%. Most accidents involved motorcycles, at 80.4%,

A total of 81,541 people have been arrested and 4,609 vehicles impounded at road-safety checkpoints across the country as part of the government’s anti-drinking campaign over Songkran.

Police and soldiers impounded 3,488 motorcycles and 1,121 cars and public vehicles from drunk drivers between April 9 and 15

UPDATE: Public Oral Sex Offender Is Regular Pattaya Bar Patron
on: 17 April, 2016

At 5:00 PM on Saturday 16th April successfully found and brought to Banglamung Police Station the two infamous people from the scandalous Pattaya Soi 6 public oral sex viral video clip.

Police officers interrogated 20 year old Thai woman Miss. Netnapa Prawatdee and 48 year old Mr. Ben Bartanui, an American who were the 2 people in the latest scandal clip to rock Thailand’s tourism image.

The incident happened on Friday 15th April at the bar where Miss Netnapa was working and enjoying Songkran with her work colleagues. Mr. Ben, it was discovered, is a regular customer at the bar.

At the time of the incident they were both completely drunk and Miss. Netnapa told the police that it happened spontaneously and unintentionally however in hindsight she realises it was an inappropriate act against the law and also that it would hurt the tourism business. She added, regretfully, she was so drunk she could not defend herself and could only try to push Mr. Ben away.

Mr. Ben, also claimed to be filled with regret for his actions, realized he had behaved in an indecent manner but blamed the amount of alcohol he had consumed.

Pattaya police officer fined the contrite pair for indecent exposure.

Police pointed out that all celebrants should uphold standards of decency as during Wan Lai on the 19th of April in Pattaya, the police have special powers by arrangement to provide extra precautions towards protecting the safety of tourists including from acts of indecent behavior.

The fact it was in public. Thais have a thing against public kissing, can you imagine they'd appreciate this?

I'd have him banned from re-entering the country and her jailed.

@Richard, next time, you should get a room, or just sneak in the toilet.
