Love or SeX

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Chariya I am well aware of Khmer customs; I've lived here many years, live in the countryside married to a Khmer and we have two children. I personally am opposed to arranged marriages and will give my daughter total freedom to choose. As forCambodians it is up to them to make up their own minds. Only Khmer can choose the direction they want to go.

I don't know where the idea of "forceful love" comes from, but I agree. To fall in love is to have a companion, lover, helpmate or whatever combination of psychological needs we deem necessary to be fulfilled and to be successful it must be reciprocal. It is mutual giving and receiving that approaches the miraculous if successful. In short the idea that love can force us into a relationship is absurd. Falling in love isn't about taking prisoners.I would reject anyone who would allow themselves to submit to unreasonable demands or any other psychological tyranny on my part just as I would flee those who would want
to act likewise with me.

Now as for love being scary there's doubtlessly some insecurity. After all you have trusted one person with your feelings. Experience is the best teacher and that's one reason I'm opposed to arranged marriages.

So no, love with a well chosen partner doesn't weaken us, it strengthens us in the knowledge that when we are wrong we have chosen a person both strong enough to tell ue and stronger yet to not leave us. Falling in love is a bit scary Lil Salary, but it's the best adventure you can have. But you've got to have some adventure in your own soul to begin with.
Good explanation.
