What will the neighbours think of my new stereo?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

What will the neighbours think of my new stereo?

Post by juansweetpotato »

I live in the Orus sey area.My neighbors are mainly just about middle-class Cambodians and Chinese. Hardly any barang around me.
I am thinking of purchasing a rather large stereo to play my funky vibes on. Will the neighbors complain and eventually chop me up like dog meat, or will they get into my funky vibe along with me?

Music to be played is very varied. From Hard metal, to classical. From dub reggae to old Khmer tunes. Basically everything between God and the Devil. I'll leave those tunes to the experts; although I do find myself tapping my foot to Spirit in the Sky which I believe was quite popular in the past to entice the young into certain Christian movements. Come with us guys, we're funky!

Any idea how it will be accepted?

Don't know about the hard metal,,,, but this is where all the reggae shit should be played.

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Why are you thinking of inviting your neighbours around to your house to listen to your music ?

I don't think they will need to come round to listen to my music.
