Such dumb shit. He isn't Chinese. There'd be no issue if she just married some drunken bumpkin from that backwards village.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

A wedding without the herds of annoying guests? Sounds like the perfect wedding to be honest...

I hate to be pushy here but exactly when is it to "be continued?"
That marriage prakhas is so transparently xenophobic above and beyond the greasing of bureaucratic palms.

Me thinks you're right, PSD. Looked like fun to me.

I think people the world over make too much of such formal ceremonies and rituals. It's so much show and little substance.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

"It's so much show and little substance." An excellent description of the lavish frivolity The Khmer excel at. If it looks good it is good.

What exactly did he do that was "illegal" to be refused approval?
Looks under 50 or whatever the law is. Do they have some inane yearly salary criteria imposed on the foreign groom, too, so that if he's between jobs then they won't approve the wedding?

Yeah, you need to make $2500 and over. Still, it's hypocritical of them given that half the "jungle weddings" out there are "shams" the paperwork isn't done so they technically aren't legally binding, but they make a big deal out of it because he's a foreigner... Seems like an article aimed at instilling fear towards the "evil foreigners".
