Recent Experiences with Traffic Police
Re: Recent Experiences with Traffic Police
In PP , it was like they were trying to show how transparent the system is and that there is little corruption on their watch. I could be wrong !Jamie_Lambo wrote:that is rather strange lol, was that in shv or pp??Parker wrote:I got stopped for no helmet ,and they refused to take the payment at the roadside and gave me a ticket that I have to pay later at the local police station. I offered $5 but they wouldn't take it, the fine is 15,000 reil ! how crazy it that?

Gav: never compare Thailand to Cambodia about anything. As regards traffic laws, you can't even compare PP to SV or to SR. Don't sweat it, just adjust to the local laws when you get here. It's not so bad, you'll see.

Thanks Jamie,
Yup, I do have my shit together, just trying to get things right before I land, if you know what I mean, Cambodia is like Thailand - 20-30 years ago - that's what I am used to. but obviously there are differences, It would be great to catch up with a few of the people here at some stage.....
Thanks again...

Perhaps he was being watched. There was some talk recently about installing cameras to monitor these things in PP.Parker wrote:In PP , it was like they were trying to show how transparent the system is and that there is little corruption on their watch. Cambodia in not like Thailand 20 or 30 years ago. There is really no comparison. Cambodia is like Cambodia 20 or 30 years ago, dirty, poor and hopelessly corrupt.
