"Unrelated to my Faith?" Say What?

If you have something so weird, strange or off-topic to post and think it doesn't belong in any other forum; you're probably right. Please put all your gormless, half-baked, inane, glaikit ideas in here. This might also be a place where we throw threads that appear elsewhere that don't belong ANYWHERE end up, instead of having to flush them. FORUM RULES STILL APPLY.

I appreciate you studying my prose..thanks for organizing the posts...when I read them (and others too no doubt) there is sense there...when you and your mate Jacob (gotta love that name) read them it's "da voice of da devil his self"...

The Harvard Crimson paper is also the tool of the devil as well apparently - being greatly alarmed by the Church of God's goon squads running amok and hassling students there. All lies of course, eh Stroppy? Those damn media types and substandard universities...like Harvard...

I am actually a "Closet Satanist" - true - 666 is all over my life. Or is it 999? I always confuse the two...I was sent by my horned winged master down there in barbeque land due south of here to haunt the true believers - the angels - Stroppy and his dear sweet Jacob...

So is another missionary named "Noah" going to chime in soon?
Seriously, what is going on with you? You can't quite keep your vomit contained, eh? I mean you have got bucket loads strewed everywhere. As you've mentioned already, I'm one of those Christians too and yes I'm here to help. But I left my fatigues at home. I didn't come here to smear Jesus everywhere but I am here to try my best to lend a hand. Is it quite possible that there are some people who would like to break out of their mold a bit and look beyond themselves? I'm not perfect in that regard, but I'm trying. There are plenty of those types here. They've made tremendous sacrifice to be here and non of it is threatening. Are there folks here that are doing what you've described, sure. But please don't put everyone in that bucket. No one deserves that. Maybe try and understand that not everyone here is looking to hook up, bar hop or get high. But hey, I wouldn't force Jesus down their throats either!
Excellent point. As I have stated a few time before there are many types of Christians. The ones that I am actively criticizing are the ones who are "commanded" primarily to convert (as in the Church of Christ and other Christian-based cults).

If someone is truly a "laissez-faire" variety of Christian and not prosthelytize then I think no one has issues with that - whatever they are doing here. It's the missionaries specifically that are the most troublesome and unfairly try to convert the locals to their faith. Many others share my disgust and revulsion for them.
It's good you can recognize there are all kinds of people out there. And it's not a bad idea to hop off your horse every once awhile and go sit in an ice chest. I've never met Stroppy, plan to someday, but he doesn't come off to me as a "force it down your throat" type of guy. Just an observation. Be careful and don't be so quick to judge. It really sounds like you don't have a clue what Christianity really is.

I couldn't have said it better. Nicely put, Jacob.

This guy should read his draft manifesto... can't back away from that fast enough, huh? But still can't help getting in a few insults on the way backwards?

I know a great deal about Christianity - I was raised Evangelical Protestant. I think because you are a Christian yourself you can't get your head around the fact that not everyone wants to be one. Moreover, probably no one wants to hear missionaries telling them they are going to hell if they don't join their particular program. Dig?

Christianity is not a tolerant religion at all (few religions are as they are convinced that they alone have the right path toward eternal salvation). Non-believers in Christ go straight to hell. Period. No maybe, no negotiating. Do you yourself understand that brutal threat in the central tenets of your faith or are you in denial about that darker side to JC, God and the Holy Ghost?

From the keyboard of Stroppy:
"To get religious for just a moment, Christ gave us two new commandments - a) to go out into the whole world and preach His gospel, and b) to be good to others, especially those who have it harder than us..."

Under that program that Stroppy apparently got directly from mouth of Christ. a) means Convert. Period. Double period. This is the first point of order....not b) be good...Why? saving souls is much more important than human compassion...

It seems that you might just reacquaint yourself with the scriptures, Jacob.

And there we go. No matter who hurt you, brother, get help. This stuff is eating away at you and affecting your mental state. Honestly. No-one should have to carry that chip on your shoulder, or that bitterness in your gut.

Nice one Stroppy. Kudos for providing free education in a third world country. They will no doubt benefit greatly from it. It's astonishing that someone tries to spin it so negatively.
I admire your calmness in dealing with some very low and uncalled for personal insults.

Dags. You are way out of order.
