Air Conditioner cleaning/servicing
Can anyone recommend a good company to clean/repair air conditioners?
Something like this (minus the Australian):
I know this is probably too much to ask for (especially 1:50 onwards), but I'd like to find a company that can fairly thoroughly clean the filters/coils. I've never seen anyone clean aircons here... Those that do it, how do they go about it? Do they disconnect the aircon, take it down and clean it outside?
I've looked at the yellow pages but if someone recommends a specific outfit (and rough pricing) it would be appreciated.

They clean aircons here. We pay $5.00 to have it done. They remove the face from the room and hang a large plastic bag with a drain Then wash the coils with a mini pressure washer. The outside coils they don't clean usually unless requested.

The plant (outside) is usually maintenance free and just needs a hosedown every six months or so. If the fins become clogged with dust, though, your power bill will climb.Hugh Briss wrote:Sweet, any contact info for who you use?beaker wrote:They clean aircons here. We pay $5.00 to have it done. I'll recommend

They often have promotions (clean 2 get 1 cleaned free) and are honest hard workers.

Contact the dealer for the brand of Aircon because the plastic clips , etc are a little different and if they are not familiar with that specific unit you risk some of the clip bits being broke. If its in the bedroom remove the stuff you don't want to get wet like the mattress lots of spit back etc from pressure washer.

We just had these guys over. They arrived within 45 minutes, and took around 35 minutes to complete the work and clean up. Paid $15. Very professional.Rama wrote:I'll recommend

In contrast the jokers we called last year charged $20 and part of the 'service' included damaging the fins on the heat exchanger on the inside unit, and ensuring the 'e-ion' light flashed ceaselessly and the 'Patrol Sensor' stayed orange (both now sorted).
Hoping to see a lower power bill next month...!

Amazing! Thanks for the feedback! Did they actually have a small portable pressure hose?! I've been to their shop before when shopping for aircons and I'll give them a call either tomorrow or Saturday.
