Chinese tourists in Thailand
Youtube: A party of Chinese tourists refuse to pay in Chiang Mai restaurant after they ate, because it was too expensive, and not delicious enough apparently.

$72 does seem a little expensive to me, but the tourists don't seem to have grasped restaurant "etiquette". ie; if it's too expensive for you then go somewhere cheaper.
They also need to learn some social skills.

Not enough tubes/intestines, bones, scales, heads or fins in the food probably. I got no time for rude arrogant people like these! Unless they could knock up a decent special egg fooyoung, which despite all the Chinese eateries sprouting up all over, they cannot !

Disgraceful behaviour. I hope the Thai police came and made them pay up, and taught them that when in Thailand, do as Thai's do. No Chinese food-no more!!

140 baht per person does sound a bit steep, unless it was all expensive seafood.

Maybe, unless drinks were included. Maybe creamy curries, a side, a fresh drink easily is 140b.ExPenhMan wrote:140 baht per person does sound a bit steep, unless it was all expensive seafood.
Whatever, if not happy with price, you demand a bill breakdown to see if a mistake is made.
I can understand an individual getting angry, but a group to act like that?

Never eat in a place that doesn't advertise prices or have a menu. Chinese tourists behaving like apes? Nothing new really... Likely to continue for years to come.

Some might say, "If you need to know the price, then you can't afford it".Bitte_Kein_Lexus wrote:Never eat in a place that doesn't advertise prices or have a menu.

You may find the cruising yacht squadron club a very suitable place to take your meals in Darwin, portions are lavish and quite inexpensive.
The members there are often on round the world cruises and refitting there in the yard.
Quite a good class of people, though you will also meet with bushmen from the hinterland who are rough around the edges but very good company regardless.
Among such Aussie mates- many a job has been found- sometimes at attractive rates.
