TEFL Jobs in Sihanoukville, Cambodia for Expat Teachers???
So Im moving to Cambodia in mid April and I was wondering if anyone knows of any schools in Sihanoukville that are hiring. Which schools are there and if any of them are hiring. Also I have heard that the pay is less than Phnom Penh is that true? Any tips, leads or any other info would be appreciated. I'm looking for Cambodia expat jobs.

Not too many schools, lots of competition and rubbish money - teaching English in Snookie's not a great life plan. That's OK though, as long as you're ready to smoke some ice, bang some hookers, drink beer through a straw (which should be placed in the gap left by one of your missing front teeth), and live in a $60 fan room - you'll be fine.

Siem Reap! A lot of work 6h a day and $300 a month, overtime $15/hour.
I'm NNative (better).
But Siem Reap 'sucks' - hot as hell, rude locals and absolutely nothing to do.. I'd go Battambang/Phnom Penh.

What quals and experience do you have regarding teaching?
And a welcome to you too. $300 a month? Those jobs aren't taken by people who are serious about getting a teaching "job."WeekendWarrior wrote:Siem Reap! A lot of work 6h a day and $300 a month, overtime $15/hour.

Those are taken by people who want to volunteer or who need something to keep them busy during their summer break while getting shit faced in Cambodia on mommy's allowance money.
Local teachers at ELT can make that.

Re: TEFL Jobs in Sihanoukville???
I'd consider a job in Sihanoukville. I've been teaching in Phnom Penh for seven months and have a TEFL. I'm not a backpacker and plan to stay here long term.
How often do jobs come up, and what sort of pay should I expect?
I'm on $1,100 now, ideally, I'd like 900$ minimum.

$5-$7/hr.
Many of the schools rip off their teachers too.
Vietnam or Myanmar pay far far better.
