Reasonably priced UPS?
My NAS is currently sitting in customs at the port (so I should see it in the next month or so) and as it's a sensitive beast I need to find a UPS for it - can anyone recommend a reasonably priced tech store that would carry these? Load time is not a huge factor (3-4 minutes is enough for a safe shutdown), it's more about power conditioning.
Bodge: This ain't Kansas, and the neighbours ate Toto!

Deam Computer on Sihanouk carries APC. A bit pricey but mine's been running for more than seven years. Replacement batteries can be sourced from any battery shop. Make sure you get an in-line (some call it 'on-line') unit as these provide the power conditioning.StroppyChops wrote:My NAS is currently sitting in customs at the port (so I should see it in the next month or so) and as it's a sensitive beast I need to find a UPS for it - can anyone recommend a reasonably priced tech store that would carry these? Also if your power frequently drops below 180V, consider putting a voltage regulator in front of the UPS. I used to live in an area with poor service and the power fluctuations killed the batteries within a couple of months.

Ugh, maybe my batteries died. How much to replace the batteries? My UPS is about as large as a a tall, long loaf of bread.
