Bangkok high-rise engulfed in flames

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Bangkok high-rise engulfed in flames

People are trapped in a burning high-rise building in Bangkok, Thailand where it is believed at least one person has already died.

Local newspaper the Bangkok Post is reporting that the fire is in a 10-storey building in Bangkok's Yannawa district and that the blaze broke out on the eighth floor about 10.30am local time.

Let me guess: heat and smoke detectors non-operative, sprinkler system just for show doesn't work, emergency stairwell too steep and blocked by cleaning supplies, firewalls substandard. Have I got all the fatal construction flaws?

Buy a condo on a floor lower than the local fire department's tallest ladder truck's reach.

At least 50 buildings in melbourne have found to be clad with the flammable Chinese rubbish panels including a major hospital and a cancer clinic. the latest building found like this is unable to be occupied, it is an apartment building for foreign students. The developer will probably go broke, good.
