Thaland gets a bit anal about missing passport pages

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

British tourist is refused entry to Thailand after ripping pages from her passport out to use as toilet paper when she was 'a bit drunk'

Cambodia would have let her enter with maybe just a fine.

Thailand has to make a big deal out of every little thing now, and has become Law-and-Orderland.
I'm afraid you're letting your obsessive anti-Thai feelings get in the way of rational thinking. Thailand has major institutional problems but refusing entry to a mushroom that thinks using her passport as bog roll is acceptable isn't one of them. If anything it sadly demonstrates some peoples level of education, personal responsibility and standard of behaviour in the UK. The fact she then wants to publicise her stupidity further sums it up.

Notes page in my UK passport - "This passport remains the property of Her Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom and may be withdrawn at any time. It should not be tampered with or passed to an unauthorised person. Tampering with a passport may constitute a criminal offence and render it invalid for use"
