Kampot

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

It is quite obvious that the flotsam and jetsam of Sihanoukville has for some time been washing up on the much cheaper shore of Kampot.

Kampot has become a hive of addiction to cheap pharmaceutical narcotics, insanity and mendacity.

While the local vigilance committee would attempt to sanitise the doings of the town and it's "business" community by censoring the "community" notice boards on Facebook, it is very apparent it has become or is becoming another Vang Vieng very rapidly.

Perhaps the consequences will bring their absurd real estate bubble back to earth, though one must never underestimate the avarice of "potential" gains.

Nope, and the general consensus among expats seems to be that is that they don't want any. There are some beergardens and ktv's with hostesses though.
I don't think it would matter much what they want if somebody decided to open a hostess bar. There was one next to the Old Market for a while, though it's long gone. Simply weren't enough of the right type of customers in Kampot to support it.

With all the Pattaya types it's perhaps only a matter of time. The governor probably won't allow them for a while though. Agree with your assessment though.

Kampot is almost a feminist run autonomous zone of Cambodia .

Oh neil's has one resident hooker who barangs come from miles away for a gawk and a possible shag if she chooses you.

WTF is Orealys? I spend a lot of time in Kampot and have never come across, or even heard of, any place by that name.
