I have always thought that the line ends in Sihanoukville but my long time friend seems to think that the line and his new life starts there. He had been married to a NZ girl, then lived in Thailand with a Thai girl and then moved NZ and that second relationship broke up about a year ago. A trip to Cambodia then convinced him that this was '' the '' place to be, so he headed home and sold up. We had talked by e/mail about how it was stupid to buy property in Cambodia as there was no security and all those other problems and he was happy to just leave his money in a bank deposit and live on the interest and the old age pension that he had just got.
He arrived back in Cambodia a couple of months ago, met a well educated girl that has a good job and one 7 yo child and married her in a local ceremony. He has already bought 2 properties in snooky and I don't have the heart to tell my friend that his cock is bigger than his brain and it is only Viagra that is putting the smile on his face. I met them both the other day when they came to PP to get her passport, and I am praying that my judgement of Cambodian girls is wrong.
A lot of people get hurt when the train comes to the end of the line and crashes so lets hope Sihanoukville is the start of the line for him.

As long as he has done the company route to buy the properties he should be fine, if they are in her name then he takes a big risk with his capital. The 'married after a couple of months' thing is a bit of a warning sign but the fact that she is educated and has a job - not in a bar presumably, is on the plus side. Really, people do what they do and if he was lonely and she brings him some joy in the twilight years then good on him.
