A Russian Photographer Was Selling His Photos to Get Money to Buy Plane Ticket Back Home, Claiming His Wallet Was Stolen
On 19 Jan 2016, a Russian man was selling his pictures he took during his travelling at the park near King Sihanouk’s statue in order to get money to buy ticket back home. He claimed that he had his phone and wallet stolen.
He might had written that khmer text by himself.

He lost everything, except a pen to write that sign with, paper, photos and even $20 for the police report.
And did he not already have a ticket outta here booked? How much is a ticket home and when was he planning to leave?
Seems he's saying he was robbed of $300, which was all he had, meaning he was planning on using that for a ticket and for travel until then?
Total bullshit.
Even if he was planning on buying a ticket with the money moments before he was robbed and spending NOTHING on food and drinks while he waited a few days for his flight, he'd be almost $300 short.
No way there is anything legit about his story.

Re: A Russian Photographer Was Selling His Photos to Get Money to Buy Plane Ticket Back Home, Claiming His Wallet Was St
Yesterday we saw him at that place. My friend and looked at him then a middle age woman asked us about him. We told her what he wrote on the paper. We talked a bit long and we understand the feeling when we need a help while we are abroad. (I remeber when my friend and I were walking on the street and my friend need to go to restroom, but we didn't know where was the public restroom. then we asked a guy to help us. he was unfriendly , he throw his bike and put our coint into the box then he just walked away without any word. we tried it many times but it didn't work. Then my friend found a bush) . Then we decided to ask him. He doesn't lose his passport. He can speak a little bit English. We asked what can we help? Take him to Russian Embassy or contact to his family? He said Russian Embassy can't anything and his family has a big problem. We asked if he has any friend? He said he didn't understand what we meant. He seemed not want to talk to me when I tried to ask many questions.
I heard people around there told me that they help him at the first day and he got some money. Some gave him 5$, but they always see him everyday here so they can't help more.

+2 for Shitsville, 1 for the Russian element (Pattaya dwellers bursting with happiness) and 1 for the bullshit con story.

Ah bugger. Give it to Shitsville anyway on the grounds that it will happen there soon enough...Username Taken wrote:^^ But, this was in Phnom Penh. Even the Incident Report says it happened in Phnom Penh.
